What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been

All the signs marking the end of another school year are slowly revealing themselves. While much of it feels eerily familiar, there are subtle differences reminding me that this year is unique. This year I am a senior, and I will be graduating with the incredibly talented Class of ’06. I am extremely proud of this accomplishment, and could not have done it without the help and support of others. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people that helped make the past 4 years so special.

First, I would like to thank my Mom, Dad and sister for their constant support and encouragement. Without them, I could not have gotten this far. I would also like to thank my grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. I am very lucky to have such a warm family and I love you all very much.

To all the wonderful friends I have made over the past four years, thank you for making my Colgate experience so memorable. It would be impossible to mention all of you, but I would like to give a special thank you to Bobby, Brad, Kevin, Jason, Justin, Lauren, Carly, my roommates and neighbors from Andrews, the members of Kappa Delta Rho and everyone else who has made Colgate such a special place for me.

The Colgate Maroon-News has been an extremely significant part of my college experience. My involvement with the paper made me an informed member of the Colgate community, taught me many valuable skills and introduced me to many dedicated individuals. Thank you to Joe and Kay for establishing a tradition of quality and laying a strong foundation for the future of The Maroon-News. Thank you Steve, Jessie and the rest of The Maroon-News editorial staff for your hard work and commitment. It has been a pleasure working with all of you.

Finally, I would like to thank the teachers, administrators and staff members that have helped me over the years. I am very proud of the education that I have received at Colgate, and I greatly appreciate all of your time and attention. During the last four years I have experienced tremendous intellectual growth and feel extremely prepared for life after college.

It is hard to believe that four years have gone by so quickly. While I am eager to begin a new chapter in my life, I will always remember the things that I’ve learned and people that I’ve met while at Colgate University.
