For the second consecutive year, the women’s lacrosse team will end the season at home with the chance to secure home-field advantage throughout the Patriot League Tournament.

Tomorrow’s match-up pits the top two teams in the Patriot League at Tyler’s Field, Colgate and Holy Cross. With so much on the line, both teams will consider this weekend’s game as a possible Patriot League Championship preview. A Raider victory would also complete a perfect record in the Patriot League and would validate the team’s superb play this season.

In particular, junior midfielder Katie McVeigh has been on a tear. She earned Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season for her seven-goal effort on Saturday.

Additionally, this weekend’s game against a top tier team will test the Raider defense. The Raider defense has been porous as of late, however; this weekend presents the perfect opportunity to strengthen what has been a somewhat inconsistent unit.

You could not have asked for more in a game: the league’s best offense versus the league’s top defense. With the winner obtaining home field advantage for the post-season, expect both teams to bring their best effort. You don’t want to miss history in the making!
