Colgate Couture : The Coolest Collaborations Happening Right Now

Last week, photographs of Beyonc?e reclining on a Bahamian beach in chic summer clothes were released. The images were soon discovered to be part of the superstar’s summer campaign with fast-fashion retailer H&M. The collection, which will be available in early May, is inspired by the singer’s stunning personal style and was designed with input from Mrs. Carter herself. If you’re counting down the days until May to get your hands on some of B’s duds, I suggest you check out some other fantastic collaborations out now to get your fashion fix.

Earlier this month, Rihanna released a capsule collection for UK high-street chain River Island. The line captures the singer’s hipster-cool vibe, with distressed jeans, crop tops, layering and chunky boots reigning supreme. The most eye-catching designs from the collection, besides the jeans that look like two pairs of pants worn on top of each other, are the dresses and high-waist skirts that feature an attached button down shirt at the waist to get the grunge look with no extra styling required. Rihanna is already busy with another collaboration, but this time with leading makeup line MAC Cosmetics. The line RiRi Hearts MAC will be released in early May and feature the singer’s take on the brand’s most famous products.

New York-based fashion favorite Opening Ceremony has released a line of clothing in conjunction with “Spring Breakers,” Harmony Korine’s new film about a group of girls (former Disney stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, Pretty Little Liar Ashley Benson and the director’s real-life wife Rachel Korine) who rob a bank to finance their spring break adventures. The collection, designed by the film’s costume designer Heidi Bivens and inspired by the wild, neon clothes that the actresses wear, features bikinis, basketball jerseys, unicorn sweatshirts and accessories like backpacks, bandanas and beach towels.

For a more sophisticated take on fun in the sun, check out “DVF Loves Roxy,” designer Diane Von Furstenberg’s collaboration with the surfer-favorite label. The collection, priced between $38 and $88, combines prints made famous through DVF’s signature wrap dresses with bikinis, cover-ups, tote bags and board shorts.

Kate Spade New York is celebrating its twentieth anniversary with a line of limited edition Keds shoes. The four-piece collection features classic Keds styles in signature Kate Spade colors and prints like polka dots, hot pink, plaid and stripes. A pair from the collaboration will cost between $75 and $85, a lower-cost alternative to Spade’s designer price tags. Also available by Keds is a scarlet sneaker designed by the label’s spokesgirl Taylor Swift, inspired by her album “Red.” The canvas kicks are $50, but are a limited edition design so Swift fans should get a pair quickly before they are all sold out.

In addition to Beyonc?e for H&M, there are a few more collaborations to keep your eyes open for. Hot on the heels of Prabal Gurung’s super-successful partnership with Target comes celebrity stylist Kate Young, whose clients include Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams, with a capsule collection for the discount retailer to launch mid-April. Preppy label Milly will team up with Banana Republic for both womenswear and menswear lines while designer Derek Lam’s partnership with Kohl’s will debut in early May. There are countless more collaborations to be on the lookout for, so keep your eyes peeled and your wallets ready.
