The Colgate women’s swimming and diving team continued to dominate on Saturday, November 20 over Duquesne on the road. The team finished with a score of 173, absolutely barreling over their opponent who only tallied 87. They now carry a winning record of 3-2 overall, having only lost to Boston University and Buffalo in the very first meet of the season and with an extremely close tally.
Senior captain Erin McGraw posted three individual event wins in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard back and 100-yard individual medley with times of 58.24, 2:04.65, and 59.41, respectively. She managed to take first in the 100-yard 100-yard backstroke. McGraw was joined by Lia Kunnapas, Emma Santor–who contributed two of her own individual victories in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke–and Claire Hunter in the 200-yard medley relay to post another victory with a time of 1:49.90.
Guyett also triumphed in the 1650-yard freestyle event with a time of 17:18.83 to add nine points to the team total. Kunnapas also added to the tally with an individual win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.18 seconds.
Sophomore Jenna Jacoby and Jenna Daly were excited to post their debut individual wins during the meet in the 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle, respectively.
The Raiders have won three of the last four meets and are off to promising start. Colgate will attempt to extend their two-game winning streak this weekend at the Kenyon Invite in Gambier, Ohio.
