13 Beats

Tristan Niskanen, Maroon-News Staff November 7, 2019

1. “Gonna Love Ya” by Avicii

Avicii is actually still around! This song makes me reminisce about driving through fall forests with friends and with all of the car windows rolled down. Enjoy this 3 ½ minute chill track and enjoy your fall break!

2. “Go Far” by Rudimental feat. Will Heard

Although this is arguably the best song on the entire album, Rudimental’s “We The Generation” is pretty eclectic; featuring tons of varying artists that came together to create an entirely new sound that represents us. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

3. “Me & The Rhythm” by Selena Gomez

Ms. Gomez is solidifying herself as an artist that creates the dance party atmosphere.

4. “Thank You” by Sevendust

This one is for the heavy-metalists among us. Okay, maybe that’s a little harsh. It is definitely a little more intense than modern alternative, but who doesn’t like “accidentally” banging their head on a table?

5. “Player” by Tinashe and Chris Brown

While Brown’s importance to the track is debatable, Tinashe’s talent is not. She rocks this pop track. So much so, in fact, that I listened to this song multiple times on repeat. Sue me.

6. “Victorious” by Panic! At The Disco

You’ve been waiting for this song your whole life, you just didn’t know it. You’ll definitely want to put on your going out clothes after listening.

7. “Fools” by Wild Child

Granted, it’s the title of the album, but there’s a reason for that. After listening, you’d be a fool not to realize why. See what I did there?

8. “Cold in Ohio” by Jamie Lawson

I relate to this song on a personal level. Not because I’m from Ohio, because I’m not, but because I am very cold at the moment and it’s probably going to get colder. Time to find those cuddles.

9. “Ocean Drive” by Duke Dumont

Trust me, you’ll want this song to be on everyone’s party

playlist. It gets your blood pumping and makes the music move through you.

10. “UFO” by Tink and Future

The album cover is intriguing enough, but tune your ears to this awesome beat because we’re going to go crazy over it.

11. “Good Good Father” by Chris Tomlin

Honestly, it’s probably one of the best versions of this gospel track I’ve heard. If you’re going through a hard time, please take a listen.

12. “Year Zero” by Moon Taxi

Okay, the term “chill” applies to this song perfectly.

13. “Wake Up” by The Vamps

So what if they’re One Direction wannabes? They’re cute, and this song kicks butt. If you can’t get up for your 8:20, “Wake Up” to this.
