Predicting the Match-up for Super Bowl LIV

Ignacio Villar, Assistant Sports Editor

August 29, 2019

Tom Brady is 42, but despite his age, he still is at the top of the league and though he lost his most formidable weapon this offseason in tight end Rob Gronkowski, the future Hall-of-Famer has a bevy of offensive talent surrounding him. He returns Julian Edelman, one of his favorite targets and one of the most dangerous kick returners in the league, as well as Philip Dorsett who has the opportunity to take on a larger role on the receiving end. What stands out most early is the Patriots ground game, which has come and gone during Brady’s career. Sony Michel and James Devlin both are capable of producing big numbers and James White has consistently proven to be a hard-nosed upfield runner capable of making big plays when needed. This provides the Pats with as threatening a run game as their aerial attack. New Englad should have no problem taking the AFC.As for the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams are just as strong as last season. They are returning virtually every one of their stars on both sides of the ball and, with defensive lineman Aaron Donald, the Rams should have no trouble making back to the Super Bowl for a second consecutive year.Head coach Sean McVay is poised for another deep playoff run with his talented quarterback Jared Goff, so the Rams certainly have what it takes face off against the Patriots in the biggest game of the season. This year’s Super Bowl: Rams-Patriots.
