Paulie Walnut’s Fantasy Picks of the Week
DET QB Jon Kitna – Kitna has developed a great rapport with his top two wide receivers Roy Williams and Mike Furrey. Against the 49ers, who have given up 116 points in their three road games this season, Kitna will help extend the Lions’ win streak to a season-high two games.
MIA RB Ronnie Brown – The number two pick in the 2005 NFL Draft accrued 157 rushing yards and a touchdown against the previously undefeated Bears last Sunday. Although Kansas City’s defense is much better than it used to be, they will have a lot of trouble containing Brown.
JAX RB Fred Taylor – Taylor, the second-best running back in the league older than 30, will have a stellar game against the Texans. The former Florida Gator has averaged at least five yards a carry in his last four games.
DEN WR Javon Walker – The Broncos’ offense has finally come to life after struggling throughout its first six games. Javon Walker has been the main reason for the offensive revival as he scored three touchdowns last week and faces the Raiders this week.
NO WR Marques Colston – Who would’ve thought that the Saints’ offensive rookie of the year would be this seventh round draft pick and not Reggie Bush? Colston is second in the NFC in receiving yards and faces a down-on-their-luck Pittsburgh Steelers team on Sunday.
ATL TE Alge Crumpler – Arguably the most underrated tight end in the NFL, Crumpler has caught 30 passes and scored six touchdowns this season. Michael Vick’s favorite target will continue his Pro Bowl season with a dominant game against Cleveland.
BAL DEF – The Ravens start six Pro Bowlers on defense and lead the NFL in takeaways. The Titans start only two Pro Bowlers on offense and are tied for ninth in the NFL in giveaways. No further explanation needed.
