Paulie Walnuts’ Fantasy Picks of the Week
NE QB Tom Brady – This three-time Super Bowl winner will play against Detroit at home on Sunday. The 2-9 Lions are a downtrodden team that has let up at least 26 points in four of their five road games this season.
NYG RB Brandon Jacobs – The future Giants’ starting running back has 8 touchdowns and only 72 rushing attempts. If Tiki Barber continues to struggle against Dallas, look for Jacobs to get more touches between the red zones.
DEN RB Tatum Bell – Bell will start after sitting out the last two games with a turf toe injury. The Broncos will start rookie Jay Cutler in place of the shaky Jake Plummer, so Tatum Bell needs to raise his game to support the former Vanderbilt star.
STL WR Torry Holt – In his last game against Arizona, Holt caught 8 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. Expect Holt to put up similar numbers at the Edward Jones Dome versus the unlucky and hapless Cardinal defense.
SD TE Antonio Gates – After catching only 13 passes in his first four games, the former Kent State basketball player has caught at least five passes in six of his last seven games. Gates will play against Buffalo, whose defense ranks in the bottom third of the NFL.
NE DEF – Detroit, a team that plays in the domed Ford Field, will have a tough time succeeding at Gillette Stadium on a cold Sunday afternoon. The weather and the Lions’ one dimensional offense will help the Patriots play one of their best defensive games of the season.
