Retraction to June 9 Op-Ed
A June 9 commentary article titled “Incident, Protest, Email, Repeat: The Exhausting Cycle of Racism at Colgate” incorrectly stated that the course POSC 151 was and is “necessary for any Political Science concentrator to graduate.” However, according to the University website, it is actually one of two options required in the Political Theory category of requirements for Political Science concentrators, the other being POSC 260. This means that, contrary to what was initially implicated, students who wish to avoid Professor of Political Science Barry Shain’s classroom theoretically could do so by taking POSC 260.
The Colgate Maroon-News Editorial Board retracts the claim in full and regrets our error.
