In recent weeks, significant updates have occurred concerning Colgate University’s newest academic buildings, the expanded Olin Hall and new Bernstein Hall.
At Olin Hall’s expanded wing, the Robert H.N. Ho Mind, Brain and Behavior Center, students and faculty began settling in. While many parts of the building are still under construction, students can be spotted studying throughout the day. The space is furnished with desks, tables and couches in signature Colgate maroon for students to work at. Additionally, there are many “breakout rooms” where students can work in small groups.
Across campus at Bernstein Hall, which is scheduled to open this fall, Colgate also announced the opening of a gaming lab in the new building in an email sent out Monday, April 29, from the Communications Office. The lab will include PCs, Xboxes, Nintendo Switches and virtual reality devices. The space is meant to be used for classes integrating game experiences as well as events held by student-led organizations or individual exploration. The film and media studies program is creating a game archive for the space, which students can recommend games for via a Google Form through May 5.
