Golf Finishes Sixth at Patriots

The Colgate Golf team finished sixth out of seven in the Patriot League Championships held at Army’s West Point Golf course two weekends ago. Bucknell, led by Player of the Year Andrew Cohen, won the event with a 44-over-par score, five ahead of second-place Navy and seven in front of third-place Army. Cohen was the only golfer to shoot under par all weekend, posting a -2 over the 54-hole event.

For Colgate, first-year Ben Jessen was the top finisher for the Raiders, finishing 20th in the Championships after shooting a three round total of 233. Senior Montek Mayal finished second for Colgate in 23rd place, while David Ake and Chase Williams tied for 25th place. Senior Keaton Cross and sophomore Neil Thompson provided the final two Colgate scores, with Cross coming in 35th and Thompson finishing 40th. Holy Cross finished a whopping 29 shots behind Colgate, sitting at 112 shots over par.
