Games of the Week on Women in Sports Day

Getting tired of the cold, dreary winter? How about a little pink to spice up your life? That’s right, this Saturday is National Girl and Women in Sports Day, where you’ll have Raiders action all throughout the day.

Starting at noon we have the Women’s Tennis team taking on the Niagara Purple Eagles in Sanford Fieldhouse. The Raiders are coming off their first victory of the season with a 7-2 shellacking of Brandeis, and hope to continue the winning trend on Saturday.

Only an hour later, at 1 p.m., the woen’s lacrosse team kicks off its season at Tyler’s Field against the Stony Brook Seawolves. The Raiders are looking to defend their 2008 Patriot League title, and beating Stony Brook would be the perfect way to begin.

After you’ve had an hour of lacrosse you can head on over to Cotterell Court to watch women’s basketball play league rival American. The Eagles are tied atop the league standings, but the Raiders won’t be afraid to pull of the upset on their home court. In addition, the first 350 fans who arrive will receive Think Pink T-Shirts, but don’t fret if you miss out on those because there will be prizes for the first 500 fans!

The capper to the day will be the Annual Pink at the Rink game, as the women’s hockey team will take on the Harvard Crimson at 4 p.m on Starr Rink. Harvard is currently three points ahead of the Raiders in the standings, so gaining two points on their rivals will be imperative for Colgate. The last time these teams squared off it was a 5-5 tie, so you can be sure there will be some fireworks in this one. So get your Raiders gear on and support Colgate this Saturday on Women in Sports Day!
