Laying Down the Law

HAMILTON , NY. – Colgate University will host the 8th Annual Law School Fair from 12-2 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, in Huntington Gym located just off Broad Street.

Admission representatives from more than 65 law schools will be available to distribute literature, answer questions and provide information to individuals considering higher education in the field of law. Law schools present will include Columbia University, New York University, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, Cornell University, Boston University, George Washington University, Washington and Lee University, Washington University in St. Louis, Boston College, College of William and Mary and Fordham University (all of which are ranked in the top 30 law schools across the country).

On average, the Law School Fair is attended by over 100 students every year.

“Attending the annual law school fair is an excellent opportunity to visit with the admission deans from a variety of law schools across the country,” pre-law advisor from Colgate’s Center for Career Services Ann Landstrom said. “By engaging in conversation, the student can discover more about the law school on a professional and personal level versus just researching a website.”

The event is sponsored by the Center for Career Services in conjunction with Colgate’s Pre-Law Society.
