Holiday Sale Gives Back To Community

The Community Hospital Auxiliary is sponsoring the 49th Annual Holiday Tea & Sale event this Saturday, December 2nd from 9:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m. In past years, the event has been held at the Colgate Inn. Due to recent renovations, it will be held at the First Baptist Church this year. An array of items donated by the community will be sold, including holiday crafts. These items include Christmas tree ornaments and candles; baked goods such as jams, jellies, candies, brownies and cookies; wooden crafts, attic treasures; handmade items, such as woven scarves, gloves, sweaters, dolls, doll houses, tea and coffee. Members of the Hamilton community and surrounding communities volunteer to run the event each year. All proceeds go towards enhancing the quality of equipment at Community Memorial Hospital. In the past, the donations have gone towards buying automatic beds and furnishing patient rooms. This year, all proceeds will go to buying new defibrillators for the hospital’s six outlying Family Health centers. Last year, the event raised $8,000 in only three hours. This year, they hope to raise even more money, but this is only possible with the help of the community. Donations can be dropped off at the church from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, December 3 and anytime before 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 4. Admission is free, and raffle tickets are given to all who attend.
