Kinney Drugs Has Beef with Local Criminal
A man shoplifted $175 worth of beef jerky from the Hamilton Village Kinney Drugs on Utica Street a few weeks ago.
Clerks confirmed that the suspect was apprehended by authorities on Sunday, September 9.
According to clerks at the convenience store and pharmacy, the suspect was caught on camera slipping the stolen goods under his shirt.
The suspect then continued to push his cart around the store before returning his cart to the corral and walking out with the stolen beef jerky.
Senior Tess Nogles was at Kinney when she noticed a Campus Safety Officer showing Kinney staff photos of the suspect, which workers quickly recognized as the jerky thief.
“I’m happy I was able to [overhear] this go down at Kinney’s. It’s so random and funny but I hope they get the beef thief,” Nogles said.
Kinney clerks believe to have heard that the man was a New Hartford native, and that this is not the first time he has attempted this crime. Hamilton PD could not be reached for comment.
