Colgate University’s Student Government Association (SGA) announced the results of the 2025-2026 election in an email sent to the student body on Tuesday, April 8 from the SGA Election Commissioners. Junior Harshitha Talasila will serve as SGA president while sophomore Lindsay Waldman will serve as SGA executive vice president in the Fall, with first-year Andres Carvajal serving in the Spring. All three were the only candidates to run in their category. Students could also submit a vote of no confidence.
Talasila previously served as vice president from 2023-2024 under president Jon Eaton ’24 and again from 2024-2025 under senior Elsa O’Brien. Waldman served as vice president of communications for SGA this year and Carvajal served as speaker of the senate.
Students who wish to share their thoughts with the new administration can attend a Senate open meeting, held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. The new executives will assume their positions after the last day of classes in May.
