Facebook Chief Operating Officer and author of New York Times bestseller “Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead” Sheryl Sandberg kicked off this year’s third annual Entrepreneur Weekend as the keynote address speaker on Friday, April 5 at Cotterell Court.

Sandberg shared her concerns for what she believes is the issue of the century, which is the oppression of women and girls. Sandberg suggested a key way to change this issue is to have more women in top positions. During her keynote address, Amanda Golden reported that Sandberg shared low statistics regarding women in leadership positions, and stated that women need to “lean in” in order to succeed. Amanda Golden reported that in concluding her formal remarks, Sandberg called upon the audience to ask themselves what they would do if they weren’t afraid, if they weren’t limited by the ideas that they weren’t good enough or that they didn’t have the necessary skills to succeed at what they wanted to do.
