A vehicle crashed into the Copper Cricket Diner, located at 107 Utica St., on Monday, Nov. 3. At least two people inside the diner were injured, according to updates posted by the Madison County Fire and Emergency Dispatch on Facebook. The accident reportedly occurred after the driver lost consciousness due to a diabetic emergency.
The driver was still unconscious when the Hamilton Police Department and Madison County EMS responded to the scene. The two diner patrons are now in stable condition. Emergency crews lifted the vehicle and removed it from the scene.
For now, take-out service will continue while the restaurant begins repairs. The Copper Cricket is open 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
