OurBus, the transportation platform connecting over 300 destinations nationwide, is expanding its services to include a new bundled ticket for travel from New York City, N.Y. to Colgate University’s campus. The ticket includes a scheduled bus to Binghamton, N.Y., and a prearranged taxi directly to campus, to improve accessibility to rural college towns across upstate New York. OurBus’s upstate New York services began in Ithaca and Binghamton in 2017.
In an effort to address the challenges many Colgate students and visitors face when traveling to campus outside peak break periods, the service operates primarily during off-peak hours when full-sized, direct buses do not run. The ticket price starts at $140 per traveler.
Direct trips to New York City and other suburban destinations will continue to run as usual during fall, winter and spring breaks with lower-priced travel options due to greater demand during these periods.
OurBus’s new offerings additionally include routes from New York City to SUNY Morrisville, SUNY Oswego and SUNY Brockport, bridging the gap between larger travel hubs and isolated college campuses and towns. The company plans to extend the bundled ticket model to additional locations throughout the Northeast later this year.
